Icosahedron
This monumental outdoor geometric sculpture by Anthony James features a large dodecahedral polyhedron constructed from powder coated steel and mirrored glass panels, mounted on a low plinth base. The infinity mirror interior contains a complex lattice of neon and LED light elements that reflect endlessly within the faceted form, producing a hypnotic and kaleidoscopic visual field visible from every angle. Installed outdoors against a natural setting of aspen and evergreen trees, the work demonstrates James's mastery of light as medium and his exploration of infinite space within finite geometric structures. The piece is a compelling example of his signature large scale illuminated sculpture practice and represents a significant acquisition for collectors of contemporary light based art.

Notes
Two versions of the work appear in the studio reference image: a larger and a smaller icosahedron or dodecahedron form. The outdoor photo shows what appears to be a dodecahedron variant installed on a plinth in a private residential or estate garden setting with aspen trees, suggesting a private collector installation. The studio document image is sourced from Anthony James Studio branding.

James Turrell
American · b. 1943

Turrell works extensively with light as a sculptural medium, creating immersive installations that manipulate perception of space and infinity through controlled illumination. Like James, his work transforms architectural environments using geometric apertures and glowing light that appears boundless and otherworldly.
Olafur Eliasson
Danish-Icelandic · b. 1967
Eliasson creates large scale geometric sculptural installations using steel, glass, and light that produce infinite reflective and prismatic effects within architectural spaces. His crystalline mirror and LED based structures share the same immersive geometric luminosity central to James's signature icosahedron and portal works.

Leo Villareal
American · b. 1967

Villareal specializes in large scale LED sculptural installations that combine geometric frameworks with programmed light to create mesmerizing and infinite feeling visual experiences. His use of steel armatures embedded with LED technology to transform architectural and public spaces closely mirrors the materials and immersive intent of James's work.
