Mass III

Mass III is a monumental painted sculpture by Egyptian born British artist Sam Shendi, featuring a dynamic cluster of interlocking tubular forms rendered in vivid hues of red, pink, yellow, blue and lime green. The work exemplifies Shendi's practice of abstracting the human figure into energetic, flowing shapes that convey emotional complexity and physical presence. The sculpture was selected for the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition 2025, one of the world's longest running open submission exhibitions held annually since 1769. Shendi studied at Helwan University of Fine Arts in Cairo, graduating with first class honours in 1997, and his practice has since evolved toward minimalist abstraction rooted in the essence of human experience.

Medium
Painted sculpture

Royal Academy of Arts, City of Westminster, United Kingdom

Notes
