Cecil Balmond

Cecil Balmond is a Sri Lankan-born British structural engineer, designer, and visual artist whose interdisciplinary practice bridges architecture, mathematics, and fine art. Trained as a structural engineer and long associated with the global engineering firm Arup, where he served as deputy chairman, Balmond developed a profound interest in the underlying mathematical and algorithmic patterns that govern both natural and built environments.
