Borealis
"Borealis" is a monumental 29-foot welded-steel sculpture by internationally renowned artist Mark di Suvero, composed of steel I-beams arranged in a dynamic tripod configuration with an interlocking circular knot element at center, all painted in a bold, eye-catching red. Installed on permanent exhibit at Greenwich Plaza by The Ashforth Company, the work is visible from both I-95 and the Metro-North Railroad. Di Suvero is celebrated globally for his seminal use of industrial steel and cranes in creating large-scale outdoor sculpture. This work exemplifies his signature vocabulary of intersecting structural beams and gestural steel forms.
