In the spring of 2023, visitors to the ancient walled city of Jericho encountered something arresting: hundreds of raw clay cubes, each one unique, each one cracked and weathered by the Palestinian sun, arranged across the landscape in a gesture that felt simultaneously monumental and deeply humble.
