Light You Can Actually Live With
There is a particular quality of attention that Neo Impressionist painting demands, and it is exactly the quality that makes collectors fall hard for it. These are not works you glance at and move on from. The optical vibration built into the surface, the way adjacent dabs of pure color fuse into something warmer and more alive than any blended pigment could achieve, pulls you back across a room, asks you to stand closer, then further away, then closer again. Living with a pointillist canvas means living with a painting that genuinely changes depending on where you stand and how the light falls. Very few movements in Western art history can make that claim with such physical, almost scientific, conviction.
