Map II
A vibrant and layered composition by Sam Gilliam, *Map II* brings together polypropylene, acrylic, and monoprint techniques across an assemblage of collaged paper, secured with aluminum fasteners on a wood panel. The work reflects Gilliam's lifelong exploration of materiality and process, transforming humble and industrial elements into a richly textured surface that pulses with color and movement. Housed in the artist's own frame, the piece extends Gilliam's signature practice of challenging the boundaries between painting, sculpture, and object.
