A monumental cactus rendered in layered and bleached denim occupies the center of this wall mounted assemblage. The prickly pear form consists of three stacked oval pads in graduated shades of indigo and slate blue, with white topstitching delineating the characteristic spines and surface texture of the plant. The work exemplifies Doyle's practice of transforming utilitarian fabric into sculptural forms that evoke American landscape and botanical symbolism. The flattened composition and cool, desaturated palette emphasize the material's inherent texture while maintaining the geometric clarity of the subject.
