Wall (pyramid region)
2026
A pyramidal wall construction composed of bleached denim panels arranged in ascending rows of one, two, and three rectangular units. The artist has collaged and mounted strips of faded blue denim fabric onto panel supports, creating a geometric stacking that references both minimalist formal languages and vernacular building practices. The worn, translucent quality of the bleached textile reveals underlying fabric textures and organic creases, while thin white lines delineate the boundaries between individual panels. Doyle's engagement with discarded or repurposed denim transforms a symbol of American labor and utility into an austere sculptural composition that hovers between monumental abstraction and material testimony.
