2020
Pathology Loop #9 (2019–2021) is a 1/1 from Iain Ball’s Pathology Loop series. The work assembles a hyper-dense digital collage where anime characters, pixelated memes, DJ culture, glitch aesthetics, and layers of found web imagery and social media content collapse into a single frame of terminal online residue. Pathology Loop functions as fossilised digital detritus — fragments of web imagery, cultural oversaturation, and algorithmic decay that remain after meaning and utility have eroded. These pieces reframe art itself as the byproduct of a hyperconnected civilisation in decline.

Rafaël Rozendaal
Dutch-Brazilian · b. 1980

Rozendaal works extensively with internet aesthetics, digital collage, and the visual language of online culture, creating works that treat the web as both medium and subject matter in ways that closely mirror Ball's fossilised digital detritus approach. His practice similarly collapses layers of internet vernacular into single compressed visual experiences.
Gretchen Andrew
American · b. 1986
Andrew creates densely layered digital and mixed media collages that deliberately overwhelm the viewer with saturated internet imagery, algorithmic culture, and found web content compressed into chaotic single frames. Her exploration of information overload and digital residue closely parallels the terminal online saturation aesthetic of Ball's Pathology Loop series.
Harm van den Dorpel
Dutch · b. 1981
Van den Dorpel is a pioneering NFT and digital collage artist whose practice assembles fragments of online visual culture, glitch aesthetics, and web imagery into dense layered compositions that investigate how meaning decays within digital and algorithmic systems. His work shares Ball's preoccupation with fossilised internet culture and the collapse of digital information into visual noise.
