Body En Thrall, p120 from Indigenous Woman
2018
Body En Thrall presents a photographic exploration of identity and cultural representation through the figure of an Indigenous woman. The work interrogates notions of embodiment, colonialism, and self-representation within contemporary society. Gutierrez employs the C-print medium to create a powerful statement about Indigenous presence and agency. This piece is part of a larger body of work examining intersectional identity through photographic portraiture.
