Rosette is a textile and mixed media work combining printed text with hand made fabric patchwork and ribbon elements. The piece merges traditional craft techniques with contemporary conceptual approaches, using embellishment and layering to create meaning. Emin incorporates text as a narrative device within the tactile surface of sewn and assembled materials. The work demonstrates her continued exploration of autobiography and intimate expression through non traditional mediums. This combination of high and low craft materials reflects themes of domesticity and personal history.
