Amerika: ten works
Created in collaboration between artist Tim Rollins and his South Bronx youth collective Kids of Survival (K.O.S.), this series of ten drawings combines metallic ink and graphite applied directly onto the pages of Franz Kafka's unfinished novel *Amerika*. The work merges literary source material with visual mark-making, allowing Kafka's text to serve simultaneously as canvas and conceptual foundation. The shimmering, gestural forms overlaid on the printed pages create a dialogue between the written word and abstract imagery, reflecting themes of immigration, aspiration, and the American experience central to Kafka's narrative.
