French Landscapes
Comprising a complete set of four lenticular acrylic panels, Julian Opie's *French Landscapes* employs inkjet printing in colours directly onto 40lpi 3D lenticular lenses, back mounted with 3mm Dibond. Opie's signature reductive visual language distils the rolling French countryside into clean, simplified forms, while the lenticular technology introduces a subtle sense of movement and depth as the viewer shifts perspective. The work exemplifies Opie's ongoing exploration of how landscape can be rendered through a bold, almost graphic vocabulary that hovers between the representational and the abstract.
