Sturtevant's *Peinture à Haute Tension* is a complex, multi-layered work combining acrylic paint, flocking, cardboard collage mounted on canvas, and neon light. Rooted in her lifelong practice of appropriation and repetition, the piece challenges notions of authorship and originality by replicating and restaging the gestures of other artists. The addition of glowing neon introduces an electric tension that underscores the work's interrogation of authenticity, value, and the nature of artistic production.
