Deuxième version du triptyque 1944 (after, Second Version of the Triptych 1944)
Three large-scale lithographs comprising Bacon's haunting revisitation of his seminal 1944 triptych, depicting tormented, screaming figures that emerge from darkness with visceral, unsettling intensity. Executed with Bacon's characteristically raw and turbulent mark-making, the works dissolve the boundaries between human and animal form, evoking themes of suffering, isolation, and existential dread. Each sheet is signed and numbered 9/60 in pencil by the artist, from an edition of 60, with an additional 23 artist's proofs.
