Wild Style Letter A, B, C, D, E….(26 paintings from letter A to Z)
2008
Rammellzee's monumental series of twenty-six spray-painted canvases presents each letter of the alphabet as a heavily armored, futuristic warrior, embodying his theory of "Ikonoklast Panzerism" — the idea that letters must be weaponized to resist linguistic oppression. Rooted in the wild style graffiti tradition of 1970s and '80s New York, the works push letterforms to their explosive limit, obscuring legibility beneath layers of spikes, shields, and mechanical ornamentation. Together, the twenty-six paintings function as both a complete cosmological system and a radical reimagining of written language as a site of rebellion and power.
