Rammellzee (1960–2010) was a New York-based artist, rapper, and theorist who developed a complex cosmological framework he called 'Gothic Futurism' and 'Ikonoklast Panzerism,' transforming graffiti letterforms into armored symbols of resistance against standardized language. He created elaborate sculptural costumes, assemblage works, and paintings that blurred the lines between street art, hip-hop culture, science fiction, and avant-garde theory. A singular and visionary figure, he collaborated with Jean-Michel Basquiat and was a foundational voice in the intellectual underpinnings of hip-hop culture.
