Michael David

David creates textured abstract paintings incorporating tar, burlap, and other industrial materials with gestural mark-making. His Neo-Expressionist work emerged in the 1980s East Village scene and has been exhibited at galleries and museums including the Brooklyn Museum. His raw materiality and process-oriented approach distinguished his practice within abstract painting.
