Justus de Verwer (c. 1626, 1688) was a Dutch Golden Age painter celebrated for his dynamic maritime scenes, particularly storm-tossed seas and naval battles. He was a pupil of the renowned seascape painter Simon de Vlieger and became a prominent figure in the tradition of Dutch marine painting. His works frequently appear at major auction houses and are held in significant European collections.
