Igor Makarevich

Igor Makarevich (born 1943) is a prominent Russian conceptual artist who has been a significant figure in the Moscow underground art scene since the 1970s. Working frequently in collaboration with his partner Elena Elagina, he creates installations, paintings, and mixed-media works that engage with Soviet mythology, collective memory, and the semiotics of ideology. His work is closely associated with the Moscow Conceptualism movement and has been exhibited internationally, including at major institutions and auction houses.
