Henri Manguin (1874–1949) was a French Post-Impressionist painter closely associated with the Fauvist movement, known for his vibrant, sun-drenched landscapes, nudes, and Mediterranean scenes. A student of Gustave Moreau alongside Matisse and Marquet, he developed a bold use of color and loose, expressive brushwork that placed him among the leading figures of early 20th-century French painting. He is often called 'the painter of happiness' for his joyful, luminous depictions of the French Riviera and Saint-Tropez.
