Franco Angeli (1935, 1988) was a Roman artist associated with the Italian Pop Art movement, known for his politically charged imagery featuring dollar signs, swastikas, and American eagles often veiled beneath thin layers of gauze. He emerged from the vibrant Rome art scene of the early 1960s alongside artists like Tano Festa and Mario Schifano. His work critically examined power, capitalism, and ideology through repetitive symbolic iconography.
