Upon closer inspection, the seemingly straightforward portrait dissolves into a complex mosaic of carefully arranged objects and imagery, challenging the viewer's perception of the original's social commentary. Muniz pays homage to Hine's pioneering social realism while simultaneously layering new meaning through his inventive process of visual deconstruction and reconstruction.
