A dynamic and visceral assemblage, this work exemplifies Peter Beard's signature diary-like aesthetic, combining toned gelatin silver photography with explosive bursts of ink, paint, and blood across its surface. Affixed photographs, chromogenic prints, a Polaroid, and even a matchbox transform the piece into a layered, tactile document of Beard's time at Koobi Fora on the shores of Lake Rudolf in Kenya. The result is an intensely personal and raw meditation on the African landscape, wildlife, and Beard's own presence within it, blurring the boundaries between photography, journaling, and fine art.
