Hugo McCloud's *Untitled* (2015) is a richly layered mixed-media work that combines aluminum foil, aluminum coating, and oil on tar mounted on a wood panel. The interplay of reflective metallic surfaces with the deep, viscous quality of tar creates a striking tension between light and darkness, industrial material and painterly gesture.
