Très belles lithographies originales de Bonnard, chacune illustrant une mélodie de Terrasse. Le compositeur avait épousé, en 1890, Andrée, la sœur de Pierre Bonnard. Le peintre illustra le premier livre de Terrasse en 1891-1892, le Petit solfège illustré. Proche du groupe de La Revue blanche, Terrasse était un collaborateur régulier de Jarry – il composa la musique pour Ubu roi, et créa le Théâtre des pantins.
