Lower Manhattan Wrapped Buildings, Project for 2 Broadway, 20 Exchange Place
A striking visualization of Christo's iconic wrapping concept applied to the towering skyscrapers of Lower Manhattan, this work combines lithography with collage elements including fabric, thread, and city maps to bring the ambitious architectural proposal to life. The layered materials — masking tape, charcoal, prisma-color, and pencil — create a richly textured surface that blurs the boundary between drawing, planning document, and artwork. True to Christo's practice, the piece exists as both an independent work of art and a monument to the imaginative process of transforming urban landmarks through the simple yet powerful act of wrapping.
