Abts creates small-format abstract paintings (48 x 38 cm) with complex geometric forms that emerge through intuitive process rather than predetermined plans. She won the Turner Prize in 2006. Her work is characterized by meticulous technique and ambiguous spatial relationships, and is held in collections including MoMA and the Tate.
