Tom Lovell (1909, 1997) was an American illustrator and painter celebrated for his vivid historical and Western narratives, particularly scenes depicting Native American life, the American frontier, and Civil War subjects. He built his reputation through decades of work for major publications including National Geographic and magazines such as Argosy and Field & Stream before transitioning to fine art painting. Lovell received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum and was a member of the prestigious Society of Illustrators Hall of Fame.
