Taryn Simon

Simon is a photographer and conceptual artist whose research-based projects examine power, systems of knowledge, and invisible structures. Her series 'An American Index of the Hidden and Unfamiliar' and 'A Living Man Declared Dead and Other Chapters' employ rigorous methodology to document restricted spaces and genealogical narratives. Her work is in collections including the Tate, MoMA, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
