Rodney Graham worked across photography, film, music, and sculpture, creating conceptual works that explored loops, inversions, and historical references. Associated with the Vancouver School, his practice included elaborate self-portraits in period costume, film installations like "Vexation Island" (1997), and works inspired by literature and music history. His work was shown at major institutions including Documenta, the Venice Biennale, and museums worldwide, and he represented Canada at the 1997 Venice Biennale.
