Peter Eisenman (born 1932) is a renowned American architect and theorist known for his deconstructivist and postmodern architectural designs, including the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe in Berlin and the Wexner Center for the Arts in Columbus, Ohio. His work is deeply intellectual, drawing on linguistics, philosophy, and semiotics to challenge conventional notions of form and function in architecture. Eisenman has also been a prolific educator and writer, co-founding the Institute for Architecture and Urban Studies and influencing generations of architects and designers.
