Nancy Grossman (born 1940) is an American artist best known for her powerful sculptural heads covered in leather, zippers, and bondage-like materials, as well as her collages and drawings exploring themes of identity, sexuality, power, and the body. Her work emerged prominently in the late 1960s and challenged conventional notions of gender and selfhood, earning her recognition as a significant feminist voice in American art. Grossman's intensely psychological and visceral aesthetic has been exhibited widely and collected by major institutions including the Whitney Museum of American Art.
