Gordon Cook

Gordon Cook (1927, 1985) was an American artist and printmaker based in San Francisco, celebrated for his meticulous realist drawings and etchings that captured the everyday urban landscape of the Bay Area. His work is distinguished by an extraordinary attention to detail and a quiet, contemplative quality that elevated ordinary subjects, streets, storefronts, and still lifes, into meditative observations. Cook was also a respected teacher and a central figure in the San Francisco printmaking community.
