Gert and Uwe Tobias are Romanian-born twin brothers based in Cologne, Germany, known for their large-scale woodblock prints, drawings, and collages that blend Eastern European folk art traditions with modernist abstraction and surrealist imagery. Their work draws on a rich vocabulary of pattern, textile design, and vernacular visual culture from their Transylvanian heritage, resulting in densely layered compositions featuring geometric forms, human figures, and fantastical creatures.
