Federico Zandomeneghi was an Italian painter born in Venice in 1841 who became a prominent figure in the French Impressionist movement after settling in Paris in 1874. He exhibited alongside Degas, Pissarro, and Renoir in four of the official Impressionist exhibitions and developed a distinctive style characterized by soft pastels and intimate depictions of Parisian women in everyday settings. His work gained significant recognition in the late 20th and early 21st centuries through major auction houses including Sotheby's and Christie's, where his pastel and oil works regularly achieve high prices.
