Domenico Beccafumi (c. 1484, 1551) was a leading Sienese painter and sculptor of the Italian Mannerist period, renowned for his distinctive use of vivid color, unusual lighting effects, and dynamic compositions. He spent most of his career in Siena, where he created major works for the Siena Cathedral, including celebrated marble inlaid pavement designs and bronze angels. His expressive style bridged the High Renaissance and Mannerism, earning him recognition as one of the most original Italian artists of his era.
