Frans Snyders (1579-1657) was a Flemish painter renowned for his dynamic animal paintings and still lifes featuring hunting scenes and abundant food displays. He collaborated frequently with Peter Paul Rubens and was influential in establishing the tradition of large-scale Baroque still life painting.
