Arnold Boonen (1669, 1729) was a Dutch Golden Age portrait painter known for his elegant and refined depictions of the Dutch and English aristocracy. He trained under Godfried Schalcken and became highly sought after for his technically accomplished, finely detailed portraits. Boonen worked in Amsterdam and also spent time in England, where he gained considerable patronage among the nobility.
