Alejandro Otero (1921, 1990) was a Venezuelan artist and one of the most influential Latin American figures of the twentieth century, known for his rigorous exploration of abstraction, color, and kinetic art. He began his career with figurative work before developing his landmark 'Coloritmos' series, vertical striped compositions that investigated rhythm, color relationships, and optical movement. Later in his career, Otero created large-scale public sculptures and kinetic works that integrated art with architecture and environment, cementing his legacy as a pioneer of Venezuelan modernism.
