Dan Christensen was a painter known for his spray-painted abstractions, creating looping, calligraphic forms and later grid-based Color Field works. He emerged in the late 1960s as part of the Lyrical Abstraction movement. His work is represented in the Guggenheim, the Whitney Museum, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
