Founded in 1979, Modernism is a San Francisco gallery distinguished by its scholarly approach and profound link to art history, presenting over 500 exhibitions of conceptually challenging and aesthetically rigorous work across painting, photography, sculpture, video, and new media by more than 380 international contemporary and modern artists.
