Frankfurt Airport XV: Hangar 5: May 7-12

Vera Lutter's *Frankfurt Airport XV: Hangar 5: May 7-12* consists of two large-scale silver gelatin prints created using the artist's signature camera obscura technique, in which entire rooms or containers are transformed into giant pinhole cameras. The resulting diptych captures the interior of an airport hangar in reversed, negative tones, rendering industrial aircraft and architectural structures in ghostly shades of black, white, and grey. The extended exposure time — spanning several days — imbues the image with a haunting stillness, collapsing the passage of time into a single, luminous impression.
