Uppercase Insides
A meticulously rendered trompe l'oeil painting, *Uppercase Insides* presents the hollow interior structures of three-dimensional capital letters as if sliced open and laid bare. Auerbach uses precise, flat planes of acrylic in a restrained palette to expose the architectural negative spaces and beveled inner walls concealed within the forms of the alphabet. The work transforms familiar typographic shapes into abstract geometric constructions, probing the tension between language as a visual system and pure form.
