The Judge
A neon sign flickers with judicial authority, its electric glow casting light upon a tumbleweed — a symbol of desolation and the American West — encased within the artist's acrylic glass atop an enamelled aluminium plinth. Dawood brings together the language of roadside signage and the natural debris of forgotten landscapes, prompting reflection on systems of power, justice, and abandonment. The work's theatrical illumination and found organic material create a tension between institutional authority and the untamed, rootless forces that elude its reach.
