Dianthus Carophillius Cum Clavinibus Multibibus (Field 72-7M; M&L 547)
This 1972 work by Salvador Dalí combines etching and heliogravure techniques to create a colored print of a carnation flower, characteristic of his surrealist approach to botanical subjects. As an artist's proof from an edition of 350, this signed and inscribed example was printed by the renowned Parisian workshops Ateliers Rigal and Draeger and published by Editions Graphiques Internationales. The large scale sheet and full margins demonstrate the technical sophistication and museum quality of this late period graphic work.
