As I Opened Fire Poster (triptych)
Roy Lichtenstein's *As I Opened Fire* is a bold triptych poster reproduced from his iconic 1964 comic-strip-inspired painting, featuring close-up panels of a fighter jet's cockpit and cannon fire rendered in his signature Ben-Day dots, primary colors, and dramatic onomatopoeic text. This example from the 1966 Stedelijk Museum edition of 3,140 copies is particularly distinguished by a pencil signature from Lichtenstein on the front, as well as an ink signature on the reverse from Princess Pale Moon of the American Indian Heritage Foundation, suggesting it is one of approximately 25 copies signed in support of Artists for American Indian Programs.
