Trenton Doyle Hancock — Vegan Arm
Trenton Doyle Hancock

Vegan Arm

A cast urethane resin arm, vibrantly painted in Hancock's signature cartoon-inflected style, emerges from or interacts with a galvanized industrial bucket filled with vivid pink pigmented epoxy resin. The work extends Hancock's long-running mythological narrative of Mounders and Vegans, characters locked in an ongoing cosmic struggle between pure and corrupt forces. An alternate installation option introduces a layer of Pepto-Bismol® over the epoxy resin in a second galvanized bucket, collapsing the boundary between commercial consumer product and fine art material while amplifying the work's visceral, bodily humor.

Medium
Painted cast urethane resin sculpture with galvanized bucket containing pigmented (pink) epoxy resin, with additional galvanized bucket containing epoxy resin intended to be covered with a layer of Pepto-Bismol® for alternate installation,
