Wrapped Tree, Project
A preparatory study for Christo and Jeanne-Claude's signature large-scale wrapping projects, this lithograph combines printed color with applied collage elements — transparent polyethylene, fabric, twine, thread, and staples — to simulate the tactile and visual experience of an actual wrapped tree. The mixed-media work blurs the boundary between drawing and sculptural object, serving as both a proposal and an artwork in its own right. Mounted to board on Rag paper, the piece reflects the duo's lifelong practice of documenting and pre-visualizing their monumental environmental interventions through richly layered works on paper.
